Sales Transaction Overview
Sales create many General Ledger transactions within EBMS. G/L transactions are created every time a sales invoice is processed, a customer payment is entered, a deposit is recorded, or a sales journal is posted. These G/L transactions are stored in a temporary sales transaction file until they are posted.
Creating Transactions
Review Sales Journal Entry to create sales transactions from a journal rather than a standard sales document process.
Review Displaying Unposted Sales Transactions to view any sales transactions that have not been posted to the General Ledger yet.
Posting Transactions
Customer history, inventory history, and General Ledger values are updated when transactions are posted. History totals are only altered by transactions being created and posted. These transactions can be viewed by right-clicking on customer, inventory, or G/L history totals. Note that customer, inventory, and G/L history reports will not reflect transactions that have not been posted. Review Posting Sales Transactions for more details on the posting step to update the financial totals and history.
Review Financial Transaction Overview for more details on General Ledger transactions.
